The Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Honourable Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid has called on the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to move urgently towards apprehending the killers of Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the Leader of Afenifere, Pa Fasoranti so as to de-escalate ethnic tension which is currently brewing.
According to *Honourable Adekoya,* “the police and other security agencies in Nigeria have a great and urgent task towards preserving the corporate existence of the country by apprehending perpetrators of violence, murder and kidnapping for ransom which is already taking on ethnic dimensions and sowing the seed of discord among the various ethnic groups in the country.
“To preserve the country as one, security agencies need to move as quickly as possible to unravel the mysteries behind this murder and arrest perpetrators so as to reduce the tension which is brewing along ethnic cleavages.”
