Taiwo Oduola, Nollywood actor and Lagos APC member dies

It is a sad moment for the Nigeria entertainment industry and Somolu All Progressive Congress (APC) as they lost yet another veteran actor and political stalwart, Mr Taiwo Ahmed Oduola to the cold hand of death.

According to one of the party faithful who spoke to our correspondent, Maryam Owolabi-Bada revealed that Oduola was reported to have taken ill a few weeks ago and was rushed to the intensive care of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba for proper medical attention where many
of the who’s who in both political and entertainment circle has been a regular visitor to
show him love and wish him a quick recovery.

It’s however, unfortunate that the thespian did not survive the illness, losing the battle around 5:00 pm on Monday 1st of July, 2019 at the age of 57. He was buried according to Islamic rite in his home town, Oke-Eri near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

His death made it the 20th of Nollywood practitioners who had died within the space of January to
July 2019.

Until his death, he was a board member of recently dissolved Lagos State Sports Commission and has served in various capacity as committee member both at the local and state level as far as politics is concerned. He was a committed member of Ward E of Somolu local government.

The Ijebu born actor and politician is survived by his twin brother, wife, children and grandchildren.
