In a special Father’s Day message titled “Celebrating the Anchors of Our Homes and Communities,” the council boss commended fathers for their unwavering commitment to their families and society, describing them as the pillars upon which strong homes and communities are built.
Hon. Ashimi noted that fathers play an indispensable role in nurturing families and shaping future generations through hard work, sacrifice, and dedication.
“Today, across our streets, neighbourhoods and homes of Somolu, we join the rest of the world to celebrate the incredible men who stand as the pillars of our society – our relentless fathers,” the chairman stated.
He emphasised that fatherhood extends beyond biological ties, stressing that true fatherhood is defined by responsibility, sacrifice and the resilience required to steer families through life’s numerous challenges.
According to him, fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers and guardians deserve recognition for their daily efforts in providing leadership, guidance and support to their families despite prevailing economic and social pressures.
The chairman further acknowledged the contributions of fathers to community development, noting that their values of discipline, integrity and commitment continue to inspire younger generations and strengthen the social fabric of Somolu.
