AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ was officially flagged off in grand style.

The event, which attracted hundreds of enthusiastic residents and loyalists from different parts of the Somolu and Bariga axis, witnessed a carnival-like atmosphere as drums rolled, party songs echoed through the streets and supporters adorned in customised campaign attire chanted solidarity songs in support of the frontline aspirant.

Hon. Dullar, the immediate past chairman of Somolu Local Government and a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was warmly received by party leaders, market men and women, youth groups, and artisans who described his aspiration as a continuation of purposeful leadership and grassroots development.

Speaking during the official campaign flag-off, Dullar appreciated the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him by the people, assuring residents that his representation at the Green Chamber would bring quality legislation, youth empowerment, infrastructural development and improved welfare for the people of Somolu Federal Constituency.

According to him, the decision to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat was borne out of his desire to further expand the dividends of democracy to the grassroots and ensure that the voice of the Somolu people is adequately represented at the national level.

“I am deeply humbled by the love and support shown to me today. This massive turnout is a clear indication that the people believe in our vision and capacity. I remain committed to serving the people diligently and attracting meaningful development to our constituency,” Dullar stated.

The former council boss further urged party members and supporters to remain united, peaceful and committed throughout the campaign period, stressing that unity remains the greatest strength of the APC in Somolu.

Several political leaders and stakeholders who attended the rally took turns to commend Dullar’s leadership qualities, describing him as a tested administrator with verifiable records of achievements during his tenure as chairman of Somolu Local Government.

They noted that his administration witnessed significant developmental projects, empowerment programmes and people-oriented initiatives that positively impacted residents across the council area.

Residents who spoke with Somolu News at the event expressed optimism that Dullar’s emergence would further strengthen effective representation and attract more federal presence to Somolu and Bariga communities.

Security personnel and party mobilizers were also on ground to ensure orderliness and smooth coordination throughout the programme.

The campaign is expected to continue across various wards and communities within the constituency as preparations intensify ahead of the forthcoming elections.
