…lauded for prioritising learners’ development, essential initiatives
The meeting served as a proactive measure to further entrench Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) within the community.
During the visit, Chairman Ashimi enumerated his administration’s essential interventions in education.
According to him, the initiatives were aimed at enhancing the academic performance of Somolu students and providing the necessary support for their continued educational progression.
Mr Sanni explained that the visit was part of the District’s oversight functions to assess the current state of educational development in the area. He commended the Council leadership for its commitment to ensuring the academic growth of all learners.
Following the initial meeting, Chairman Ashimi and the Council Manager, Mr Abiodun Peters Babington, escorted the officials to the Somolu Legislative Council. They were received by the Leader of the 10th Legislative House, Rt. Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola, who conducted a brief tour of the chambers.
During the engagement, Rt. Hon. Oyeyiola acknowledged the strides made by the Local Government under Chairman Ashimi’s leadership.
Furthermore, he stated that the lawmakers are dedicated to seeing the Council surpass its current benchmarks, noting that every student deserves the best possible support to achieve excellence.
