The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, alongside the immediate past Chairman, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, have extended warm felicitations to residents of the community as the festive season sets in, urging them to embrace peace, love and unity.
In separate goodwill messages issued on Tuesday, the council boss and his predecessor congratulated Christians in Somolu and across the world on the celebration of Christmas, describing the season as a period of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Hon. Ashimi, in his message, said Christmas represents the triumph of love, humility and sacrifice, values which, according to him, remain essential for sustainable development and harmonious living within the community. He noted that the festive season offers an opportunity for residents to strengthen communal bonds and extend kindness to one another, especially to the less privileged.
The Somolu LG Chairman further reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, stressing that efforts would continue to be intensified to improve service delivery, promote security and enhance the overall welfare of the people.
“As we celebrate this joyous season, I urge residents to remain law-abiding, show compassion to one another and uphold the spirit of unity that Somolu is known for. My administration remains steadfast in its resolve to deliver dividends of democracy to all”. Ashimi said.
Similarly, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ described Christmas as a season that underscores the importance of selflessness, tolerance and love among people of different faiths and backgrounds. He called on residents to use the period to pray for the peace, progress and continued development of Somolu Local Government, Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
Dullar, who commended the resilience and support of Somolu residents over the years, also urged them to celebrate responsibly and remain security-conscious during the festivities. He expressed optimism that the coming year would bring renewed hope and greater opportunities for the community.
Both leaders wished residents a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, encouraging them to remain united and supportive of initiatives aimed at advancing the growth and wellbeing of Somolu Local Government.
