In a bid to further enhance infrastructural development and promote socio-economic growth within the Bariga community, the Executive Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Adedeji Bukonla Omope, has successfully restructured Ajidagan Street, Gbagada area of the state, giving it a new look through the construction of modern interlocking pavement and the installation of a welcome arch.
The project, at nearly 100% completion, has not only beautified the street but will also improve accessibility and ease of movement and be environmentally friendly for residents and business owners in the area. Before the intervention, Ajidagan Street was in a deplorable state, making mobility and commercial activity nearly impossible for motorists and pedestrians alike.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Adedeji Bukonla Omope emphasised that the reconstruction of Ajidagan Street was part of her administration’s ongoing commitment to ensuring even distribution of infrastructural projects across all wards within Bariga LCDA.
According to her, “Our goal is to make Bariga a model community where residents can enjoy the dividends of democracy through visible and impactful projects. The interlocking of Ajidagan Street and the erection of a befitting welcome arch symbolise our dedication to urban renewal, improved transportation, and community identity.”
She further assured residents that similar road projects are underway in other parts of the LCDA as part of a broader plan to boost local development and attract investment opportunities.
Community members have expressed their appreciation to the council chairman for her proactive leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
A resident, Mr Yusuf Alade, described the transformation as “a long-awaited intervention that will ease transportation and enhance business activities in the area.”
Another resident, Mrs Funmilayo Adebanjo, commended Hon. Omope for her consistent efforts in delivering people-oriented projects, noting that the new interlocked road has already brought relief to road users.
The Bariga LCDA boss reiterated that her administration will continue to prioritise road infrastructure, environmental sanitation, education, and health initiatives to uplift the standard of living of residents.
Meanwhile, with the completion of the Ajidagan Street project, Bariga LCDA once again proves its unwavering commitment to development, community welfare, and responsive governance under the leadership of Hon. Adedeji Bukonla Omope.
