In a remarkable show of compassion and leadership, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Oluomo of Kosofe-land, Hon. Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, on Friday, 7th November 2025, rounded off her weeklong project commissioning exercise with the distribution of over 2,000 food palliatives to residents of the LCDA.
The good gesture, which took place at the council secretariat, marked the grand finale of the 2025 Project Commissioning Week, during which the council boss—popularly known as “Mrs Project”—unveiled a series of infrastructural and developmental projects across various communities in Ikosi-Isheri.
Among the numerous projects commissioned were over seven newly constructed road networks, lock-up shops at the Mile 12 International Market, and several community-based interventions designed to enhance social welfare, economic growth, and residents’ quality of life.
While addressing the jubilant crowd during the closing ceremony, Princess Samiat Bada, who is also the Yeye-Shewa of Ilara Kingdom, reiterated her unwavering commitment to improving the living standards of her people through inclusive governance, infrastructural renewal, and sustainable empowerment programs.
“My administration remains focused on projects that directly impact our people’s lives. These roads, markets, and palliative interventions are part of our social contract with the people of Ikosi-Isheri. We will not relent until every community feels the touch of good governance,” she said.
She expressed gratitude to the party leaders and residents for their continuous support, cooperation, and trust in her administration, assuring that more developmental projects are still in the pipeline to further transform the LCDA.
Beneficiaries of the palliative distribution commended the council chairman for her people-oriented leadership style, describing her as a “leader with a motherly heart” whose projects have positively touched every ward in Ikosi-Isheri.
The event was attended by council officials, community leaders, traditional rulers, market women, youth representatives, and other stakeholders, who applauded Princess Bada for setting a new standard of grassroots governance in Lagos State.
However, with the successful completion of the week-long commissioning and the humanitarian gesture that crowned it, Princess Samiat Bada continues to reaffirm her reputation as one of Lagos’ most impactful and people-centred council leaders.
