Another tragedy struck the nation on Wednesday as it woke up to yet another rape and murder case in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, as an 18-year-old undergraduate was murdered by yet to be identified men.
The lady identified as Bello Barakat was reportedly gang-raped and murdered by unknown men on Tuesday in Akinyele area of Ibadan.
Barakat, an hijabite was a year one student of Federal College of Animal Health and Production in Ibadan.
Reports have it that her dad found her dead body around their home where she was dumped by the men.
After her body was examined, it was discovered that she was raped and got murdered.
It was gathered that she has been buried according to Islamic rites.
Following her death, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest, zone D has demanded justice for the deceased who was assaulted and murdered.
Barakat’s death has continued to attract outrage nationwide as Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure over the rising cases of Rape in Nigeria with the hashtag #JusticeforBarakat.
It would be recalled that Ms Omozuwa, a 100 level Microbiology student of the University of Benin, was raped and murdered inside a hall in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ikpoba Hill, Benin City on May 13, where she had gone to study.
