Following a productive engagement with leaders of several Community Development Areas (CDAs) in Ward F (Bajulaiye-Folagoro) weeks ago, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, officially commenced the reconstruction of Israel Oyekan Road earlier today.

The Chairman led a delegation that included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Hassan Ojomu; the Chief of Staff, Prince Sodiq Adeeso; other aides; and engineer Osifala and engineer Kunle. The team thoroughly assess the road’s dilapidated sections and identify specific areas requiring necessary expansion to facilitate the reconstruction work.

In a related development, the Council Chairman was joined by the Majority Leader of the 10th Somolu Legislative Arm, Hon. Afees Raheem, to inspect several roads in Ward E (Okesuna Alase). The inspection covered Duru Close, Abimbola Lane, and Ayoade and Humani Streets.

During the tour, the Chairman took the opportunity to engage directly with the residents of each street to better understand the major challenges they face in their respective areas. He emphasised the crucial importance of grassroots infrastructural development across the entire community.

Back at the helm, Chairman Ashimi hosted the Leaders of Alade Market in Ward D (Orile Somolu). The meeting focused on the almost completed reconstruction works of the market’s dwelling space. He assured the traders of the timely and enhanced delivery of the project.
