The excitement is palpable as the 97/2000 alumni set of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), formerly known as Ogun State College of Education, gears up to celebrate their 25th anniversary in grand style. The milestone, which marks a quarter-century since their journey as undergraduates began, is being met with great enthusiasm and deep reflection by members across the globe.
In a statement released by the organizing committee, the anniversary celebration promises to be a reunion of nostalgia, bonding, and renewed commitments to both personal growth and the institution that shaped their early professional lives.
Scheduled to hold on 13th of September at the prestigious Rolak Hotets and Suite, Imowo, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State where the celebration is expected to feature an engaging legacy project to give back to TASCE.
“The 25th anniversary is not just a celebration of time, but of impact, connection, and progress. We are coming together to relive those cherished memories and strengthen the bonds that have stood the test of time,” said Mr. Dele Oyeledun (Droid), Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee.
Alumni members have expressed their excitement across social media platforms and WhatsApp groups where planning and fundraising activities are in full swing. For many, the reunion is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, share life experiences, and honour lecturers and colleagues who have passed on.
“It’s amazing how quickly time has flown. We walked the halls of TASCE with dreams in our hearts and now, 25 years later, we have stories of resilience, triumph, and shared history. I can’t wait to see everyone again,” said Mrs. Omolara Ogunyoye, a Lagos-based alumna.
Beyond festivities, the alumni group is determined to make a lasting contribution to their alma mater. The proposed legacy project, still under review, may include renovation of a lecture hall, provision of learning materials, or a scholarship endowment fund for current students.
According to the committee, the idea is to leave a meaningful imprint on the institution as a show of gratitude.
Meanwhile, as anticipation builds, the TASCE 99/2000 alumni are proving that though the years have passed, the spirit of friendship and the value of education remain timeless.
