‘You’re a Rare Gem’-Siblings unite to shower brother with heartfelt birthday cheers

In a delightful display of love and family unity, as the family of Mr. Yusuf Salawu came together over the weekend to celebrate his birthday with an outpouring of affection and heartfelt birthday wishes.
The event which took place at their family home in Magodo, Lagos, coincide with his cousin’s daughter naming ceremony, was filled with laughter, joy, and a warm atmosphere of friendship.
The celebrant’s siblings – Senator Hamed Ogembe, AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, Hon. Sani Ogembe, and Mrs. Omotanwa Salau – left no stone unturned in making the day truly special through their touching messages. The family home was a cynosure of all eyes, capturing memorable moments as friends, neighbours, and other relatives also joined in to mark the occasion.
The Senator and the eldest among them, described the celebrant as the “glue that binds our family together. Growing up with Yusuf taught us the importance of laughter and unity,” he said in his heartfelt remarks.
In a lighthearted speech, the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government and the Agba-Akin of Agboyi-Kingdom; Hon. Dullar described Yusuf as a wonderful soul with an easygoing personality, sharing childhood memories that sparked laughter and nostalgia among the guests.
Hon. Sani Ogembe, popularly known as ‘Arewa’, also expressed his admiration in his birthday remarks, describing Yusuf as a beacon of positivity and kindness.
Adding to the warm birthday wishes, the Chairperson of Somolu local government and the eldest sister of the celebrant; Hon. Mrs. Mariam Omotanwa Salau, described her brother as a “pillar of strength and an endless source of joy” in her touching speech. “YS as we fondly call him, you’re a rare gem. Your kindness and unwavering support have brightened our lives in countless ways”. She said.
In his response, a visibly moved Yusuf expressed his heartfelt gratitude. “I feel incredibly blessed to have siblings who’ve always believed in me and stood by me through every high and low. Today is a reminder that family is everything,” he said, drawing warm applause from the audience.
