Akinola’s Matriarch, Madam Rachael Kehinde final burial ceremony celebrated in Grand style

It is the joy of every parent to live a fulfilled life and leave behind beloved children who will carry on the legacy bequeathed to them after their glorious call to the great beyond.
The same could be said about the late Madam Rachael Kehinde Akinola, the mother of the Somolu local government Supervisor for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs; Hon. Olumide Akinola who died at 80 years after a fulfilled lifetime and celebrated amid pomp and pageantry.
The glamorous event, which took place at the Myong Barrack, Morocco Road, Somolu, Lagos, was a sight to behold. The creme de la creme of society were present at the event ground in their colourful Aso-Ebi attire in honour of the late matriarch.
There was no dull moment as Hon. Olumide Akinola popularly known as ‘Akins’ in the political arena and his siblings ensured their guests were well entertained with mouth-watering delicious meals coupled with melodious music that kept many on their feet throughout the stipulated time.
Speaking to Somolu News at the venue, the immediate past chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. Olorogun Omogbolahan Bagostowe described the late matriarch as a dedicated and disciplinarian woman who trained her children to an enviable position in life noting that he was not surprised they’re celebrating her glorious exit because she deserved it.
In the same vein, the Somolu All Progress Congress chieftain and the former Regional Chief Accountant of Panalpina West Africa, Hon. Niyi Osibemekun (Jackal) also known showered praises on the late Madam Kehinde Akinola for bringing up lovely children like Olumide Akins and his siblings who are all making waves in their choosing careers.
Hon. Yomi Oshikoya, the Somolu Legislative leader in his goodwill message poured encomium on Madam Kehinde Akinola for her motherly roles played in Hon. Olumide and his siblings’ lives.
Additionally, the former Supervisor for Agric and Sports, Somolu local government, Hon. Dayo Adefuye said he might not have known the deceased but described one of her children, Hon. Olumide Akinola as a wonderful brother, responsible politician, and great Somolite.
Adewale Adetimirin, one of the deceased son’s bosom friends eulogized Mama Akinola for being a wonderful and caring woman not only to her children but to all those around her especially her son’s friends emphasizing the need for parents to be good not only to their children but others around them which he said Mama exhibited throughout her lifetime.
Present at the final burial ceremony of late Madam Rachael Kehinde Akinola include government functionaries, captains of industry, academics, top political office holders, businessmen and women alike, friends and colleagues not leaving out neighbours and well-wishers.
If truly the African belief about the dead looking back to see what transpired after their departure to the great beyond is anything to go by, then, Madam Akinola will no doubt, be basking in the euphoria of happiness following the lavish party thrown by her children.
