Lagos Police Officers Honoured with Somolu Newspaper Leadership Awards.

In a commendable move to appreciate and celebrate the hardworking and dedicated officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Somolu Newspaper recently bestowed leadership awards on outstanding members of the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.

The prestigious ceremony saw the Officer-in-Charge of the Commissioner of Police Special Squad 1, CSP Kehinde Oni, honoured as the 2024 Distinguished Super-Cop of the Year, while ASP Muhammed Akeem was awarded the Super-Cop of the Year.

In his address, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Somolu Newspaper; Sheriff Owolabi Bada highlighted the bravery and commitment of these gallant officers, which has distinguished them from their colleagues.

He noted that their pivotal roles in enhancing the security architecture of Somolu Community and Lagos at large cannot be overemphasized.

“To be honest, these two dedicated officers have in the last one year done a yeoman’s job combating crime in the communities in and around Lagos State and deserve every accolade that comes their way. They have indeed made a difference,” the Publisher remarked.

In his response, CSP Kehinde Oni expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing their efforts with such prestigious awards.

He emphasized that this recognition would not only motivate them to continue their exemplary work but also inspire other officers to be dedicated to their duties.

“I wish to specially appreciate the initiator of this award for finding us worthy of these prestigious awards. We will continue to work harder and smarter to keep crime at bay so as for society to be crime-free,” CSP Oni stated.

The awards underscore the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the efforts of law enforcement officers who risk their lives daily to ensure the safety and security of the community.

This recognition is expected to foster a culture of dedication and excellence within the force, further enhancing the security framework of the Lagos State community.
