Somolu LG Chair, ‘Dullar’ organizes a two-day seminar for management staff

Somolu local government in collaboration with Rahmek Company has organized a significant seminar titled “Motivation and Effective Service Delivery in Local Government”. Some local government staff members were randomly selected from various departments and units to participate in the seminar.

The training enhanced staff motivation and improved service delivery standards within the local government system.

Declaring the Seminar open, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Ekiyemi said his government is determined to continue to train and retrain Staffers of the Local Government because he believes that it will help for better performance and effectiveness which will at the long run aid the development of our dear local government.

The seminar featured esteemed speaker Mr. Babatunde Alli-Balogun, a renowned expert in organizational behaviour and public service effectiveness and a retired Human Resource personnel, who shared valuable insights on the importance of motivation in the workplace and its direct impact on the quality of service provided to the community.

Key topics discussed include:

– Strategies for enhancing employee motivation
– The relationship between motivation and service delivery
– Practical tools for local government officials to implement in their daily operations

Mr Alli Balogun engaged the participants in lively discussions, sharing experiences and best practices. He eulogized the determination of the Executive Chairman to proffer solutions to the yearning and aspirations of the residents of Somolu and gave a typical example of how residents of other local governments sing praises of Dullar for his benevolent attitudes on welfarism especially his “Ounje Arugbo” program and other gestures.

Participants were also able to gain knowledge about how a collaborative environment aimed at building a motivated workforce dedicated to serving the public effectively could be achieved.

“We believe that motivated staff are essential for achieving our goals in local governance. This seminar is just the beginning of our commitment to improving service delivery in our communities”. Said Mr Alli-Balogun.

The seminar concluded with actionable takeaways and a renewed commitment to fostering a culture of motivation and excellence in public service.
