Bariga, Lagos – In a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries from far and near, the popular new garage in the Bariga area of Lagos State came alive in honour of Alhaji Teliat Temidayo Odutola a.k.a Olomu as the Lagos APC chieftain and NURTW Bariga Branch A boss was recently turbaned as the Aare Adinni of Apelehin Ehingbo Central Mosque, Bariga at the 5th Turbaning Ceremony of the mosque.
Alhaji Odutola, in his acceptance speech, revealed that the Islamic title had been offered to him six years ago, but recently accepted it to serve Allah, seek His mercy, and strive for Aljanah (paradise).
“To be honest, I didn’t accept the honor as Aare Adinni of Apelehin Central Mosque to flaunt my ego but rather see this as an opportunity for me to contribute my quota by renovating the Central Mosque to a reasonable standard that befits my status and as well use this to seek Allah’s mercy and Aljanah”. He said.
In a display of commitment to his new role, Olomu donated and raised millions of Naira for the renovation of the Central Mosque. He expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries who attended the ceremony, praying to Almighty Allah to continue to bless them in all their endeavors.
Speaking to Somolu Online Newspaper at the venue, Comrade Olalekan Ajibola, one of the guests and NURTW members, described the awardee as a religious and dedicated individual who helps others in need at every opportunity. “Olomu is a distinguished religious man with a noble gesture. A detribalized philanthropist and man of the people who likes helping others in need. He’s worthy of emulation, and I will advise other elites in the community to follow his exemplary gesture”. He said.
Similarly, Yeye Oge Solomon, a guest from the United Kingdom, also praised the newly turbaned Aare Adinni, describing him as a close friend who deserved every accolade for being a dedicated, religious man and community leader loved by many.
The religious event, which later moved to the Beverley Event Centre, featured top Islamic clerics, government functionaries, political elites, artisans, and well-wishers. Guests were treated to sumptuous meals and assorted drinks in a celebratory atmosphere while the popular musical act, Yinka Best churned out the best of his music to the admiration of the guests who could
hide their feeling but jump on their feet to a piece of good music.
Alhaji Teliat Temidayo Odutola, known as Olomu, is not only a philanthropist but also a community leader whose contributions have positively impacted many lives. He has sponsored more than ten academic scholarships and provides weekly financial support to over fifty widows. His role in the Ehingbo Apelehin Central Mosque includes leading a palliative scheme during Ramadan that benefited 250 Muslims.
His recognition as Aare Adinni is one among many titles he holds, including Baba Adinni of Nuru Salam Central Mosque in Igbogbo Ikorodu, Akeweje Adinni of the League of Imam Ratibi in Bariga, and Oluomo of Ilara Remo Kingdom in Ogun State. Alhaji Odutola’s dedication to philanthropy and community service has made him a respected figure in various Islamic societies.
