Stop blaming President Tinubu for not including state universities in the student loan scheme’-Reno Omokri

The former Aide to President Goodluck Jonathan and Social media influencer, Mr Reno Omokri has argued that citizens should hold their governors accountable for not using increased federal allocations to support state university student loans.

Remo made this submission on his social media handle claiming that “instead of attacking President Tinubu for not including state universities in the student loan program, why not face your Governor?

Are you aware that since May 2023, all Governors have been receiving at least 50% more federal allocation due to the removal of fuel subsidy?”

“Some, like Anambra and Nasarawa, have received almost double. What are they doing with the money? They have not increased civil servants’ salaries, and their wage bill remains unchanged. Where is the extra money going to? It is because you are fixated on Tinubu that they are getting away with murder!”

“Let them use part of that money to start up a State Student Loan scheme, as the Federal Government has done. They should not be like Peter Obi, who spent eight years as a Governor and did not build even one nursery, primary, secondary school, or university.
