The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, in a remarkable gesture, presented an official car to the newly appointed Grand Chief Imam of Somolu-Bariga, Sheikh Boonyamin Olanrewaju Akanbi Dabiri on the 9th of October, 2024.
The presentation of the limited edition Toyota Highlander that took place at the Chairman’s temporary office on Shipeolu Street, just before the Jum’ah service had in attendance top Muslim clerics, political elites, and government functionaries.
Sheikh Boonyamin Dabiri, who was turbaned on July 27, 2024, is a graduate of Islamic Studies from the University of Lagos. His new role as the Grand Chief Imam has seen him providing spiritual leadership to the Muslim community in Somolu-Bariga, a responsibility that has been met with widespread admiration. The official vehicle is expected to support his growing duties.
The Grand Chief Imam expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Salawu for the generous gift, offering prayers for the Chairman’s continuous success. He highlighted the importance of such support in strengthening the religious and community bonds within Somolu.
