If the dead truly look back spiritually as it’s often proclaimed, the late Yeye Oba of Idena, Iperu-land, Alhaja Chief (Mrs.) Alimot Alake Osinowo will no doubt commend her children; the former Ogun state Commissioner for Finance; Hon. Wale Osinowo, Tosin Osinowo, and Hon Olayinka Koya-Sodipe for giving her a befitting burial after her departure to the great beyond.
The ancient Iperu township witnessed a large turnout of prominent politicians, captains of industries, traditional rulers, government functionaries, businessmen, and women alike at the final burial ceremony held on Saturday 4th of May, 2024 at the Christ Apostolic Grammar school field situated along Ode-Remo, Ogun State with the car park section filled with exotic cars highlighting the caliber of dignitaries that graced the occasion.
The inner hall was aesthetically decorated in all-white fabrics with different conspicuous pictures of the late Iyasuna of Ogo-Oluwa Mosque hung around the event center in an exhibition format. At the same time, one of the oldest Nigerian Juju maestros, Chief Ebenezer Obey Commander churned out some of his best oldies to the listening pleasure of the guests who could not resist but continue to nod their heads to the rhythm of the Egba-born musician.
There was no dull moment as the open field was also jam-packed with a special giant-sized tent that housed a thousand Orange/Black mixed Aso-Ebi cladding guests who enjoyed every minute dancing to different fusion of Afro hip-hop, and fuji music that lasted till dawn.
Meanwhile, the dignitaries were treated to sumptuous delicacies ranging from local delicacies like Ikokore, ‘Ebiripo’, Ofada Rice, Asun to Moin-Moin while other continental dishes were also made available for those caring for them.
