Magodo area in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA of the state was a scene to behold as family, friends, and political associates honoured the Executive Chairman of the Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ popularly known as ‘Mr. Koseleri’ on his 52nd birthday anniversary on Monday 29th April 2024 held at his residence.
The well-attended birthday event no doubt, brought people from far and near who clad in different styles and colourful Aso-Ebi coupled with mouthwatering dishes, assorted wines and not leaving out good vibes from one of the best DJs around which advertently made the event the talk of the town.
According to the former Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Somolu Constituency I, Hon. Olowo Rotimi Emmanuel who in his birthday message described the celebrant as a leader whose transformative leadership has turned the Somolu community into what it is today adding that he (Hon. Dullar) deserved to be celebrated.
“Birthday is a day to remember the day we’re born, reminisce, aspire, and be able to make another plan as we grow older. Today is another day to add to our memoir and that’s why many of us are thanking God for his life and our prayer for him is for God to let him continue to wax stronger in good health, wisdom, and understanding”.
Similarly, the former Somolu APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Femi Taiwo in his birthday message narrated that Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ remains a living political icon in Somolu LG who laid a befitting and enduring legacy for the next generation of council chairmen through his transformative leadership acumen.
He added, “The celebrant, Hon. ‘Dullar’ no doubt is a living icon who has done a lot in Somolu local government building roads and bridges. He has performed creditably well in all human endearvours. For instance, in the area of good health care delivery, he built Primary Health care centers across all the wards, built schools and rehabilitated the old ones in the area of education, made provision for sports facilities for the youths, and he’s been taking care of the elderly through the monthly Welfare package called “Ounje Arugbo”. I mean, he deserved to be celebrated”.
In the same vein, the leader of the Somolu Legislative Arms, Hon. Yomi Oshunkoya in his birthday remarks described the celebrant as a trailblazer, iconic political leader, and mentor who took him through the nitty-gritty of leadership especially in politics.
“The celebrant I would say is my political leader and mentor who taught me to be independent and be strong without depending on anybody. I wish him all the best in life”.
Additionally, the Majority leader of the legislative Arms, Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi added his voice stating that the Council chairman, Hon. ‘Dullar’ remains a worthy political leader whose performances in Somolu local government in terms of welfare and infrastructural development cannot be overemphasized.
“He went further, “There’s a boss and a leader. Somolu council chairman is not a boss but a leader. He will listen and attend to you appropriately when you approach him for anything. he’s a man with listening ears. He’ll turn you down for any reason and his performances in welfare and infrastructural development are second to none”.
In his birthday message to the celebrant, the Special Adviser to the Council chairman on Market matters, Hon. Abdul Razak Olatunji Tajudeen described the council chairman as a leader who accommodates everybody and a man of the people whose good character endears him to so many people far and near.
“Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ has been a wonderful chairman. He’s a man that accommodates everybody be it young or old and don’t be surprised when you see a whole lot of people here, they’re to celebrate with him. Once again, I wish happy birthday and the very best in life”.
Another political associate, friend, and the immediate past Deputy Secretary, Lagos State APC; Hon. Abiodun Salami in his remarks revealed so much about the celebrant describing him as a great philanthropist, unique, easygoing, very humble personality, and highly religious.
He continued, “Something unique about this gentleman is that he’s a great philanthropist and humble personality. God has given him everything in life, be it a wife, children, money, or position, he has them all but has never been power drunk or tempted by any of these. These are the unique things about the celebrant, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ and that’s why somebody like me will always be around him. On this note, I wish him all the best and so many good things in life”.
Meanwhile, in his birthday wishes, one of his political disciples and councilor representing Bashua Ward B, Hon. Abdul-Lateef Ashimi described the celebrant as a good leader and mentor who has performed very well supporting young and old in Somolu local government adding that honouring his birthday was just a way of paying back for his selfless service to his people.
“We give thanks to Almighty Allah for this day as we are here to celebrate and rejoice with our leader and mentor. He has done fantastically well supporting young and coming here is a way of paying back for his good deed. We pray to God to continue to bless him and give him wisdom and understanding”.
