The Chairman of Oyedele Close and his Executive members in the Somolu local government area of the state have showered encomium on the Executive Chairman of the Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ over the recent rehabilitation of Oyedele Close.
The Chairman, Mr. Ugochukwu Modu who spoke to Somolu News during the commencement of the road project described the road project as long expected one adding that the council boss’ gesture was nothing but an exemplary leader who has listening ears. A dedicated and Iconic leader who has the interest of his people at heart.
“I was surprised we just met him once or twice to intimate him about our street and he approved it without stress. I want to thank him for fixing our street which has been abandoned for years. Before now, we keep the street and the drainage clean and now that he has given us a well-interlocked street, we’ll continue to keep the environment in a good and hygienic state”.
“We have seen other streets he has rehabilitated and other infrastructure he’s putting in place, especially the new and massive local government structure, he’s doing a great job in the Somolu community and we commend his infrastructure legacy”. He enthused.
Additionally, one of the Excos and member of the Security Committee, Mr. Bona Ali commended the council chairman for bringing ‘dividends of democracy’ to the people of Oyedele Close and Somolu at large noting that such infrastructure intervention was nothing but a good development that’ll last the test of time.
“Honestly, I want to give kudos to the Council Chairman for bringing ‘dividends of democracy’ to us at Oyedele Close. Though the road has not been good and I want to commend the Chairman and his team for coming to fix our street and the drainage, I say thank you to them”.
“The good part of it all is that we’re a community of large self-help people and if you look at the gate, the security house, all of these are things we started this year and it cost us nothing less than N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousands) just a community of about 10 Houses. So, we assure the local government authority that we’ll maintain and sustain the tempo”.
In the same vein, one of the members of the community, Mr. Nkana Ime also added his voice to the commendation remarks saying that the council chairman’s gesture was a welcome development and a good omen for the good people of Oyedele Close adding that Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ has just put his footprints on the sand of time.
