The Chairman House Committee on Infrastructure and the Deputy Chief Whip of the 9th Legislative Arm, Somolu LG, Hon. Oyeyiola Tunde James has applauded the Somolu council chief’s endearing legacy in the community since he assumed office as the council chairman.
Hon. Tunde James made this assertion while speaking to Somolu News during one of their oversight functions where he heaped praises on the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ for doing a great job as far as infrastructural development was concerned in the community stating that the team was satisfied with the standard of job done by the contractors.
“We’ve gone around as part of our oversight function to inspect some of the ongoing projects embarked on by the AbdulHamed-led Administration to see for ourselves whether the contractors are executing the projects according to the signed agreement and with what we’ve seen so far, I can tell you that all the structures are in good shape”.
“Meanwhile, we’ve pointed out all the areas where the contractors need to make adjustments in conformity with the agreed standard and we believe the contractors will do the needful because we’re still coming back to check if our observations are taken into consideration before the completion of the said projects and all these will reflect in our report”. He opines.
Some of the ongoing projects inspected include Alade Market, Olaleye Market, and Wright Memorial Primary School while the team also reminded the contractors of their intention to revisit the sites to ensure strict compliance to standard and speed up the projects to meet up with the completion date.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Chief of the Somolu 9th Legislative Arm, however, enjoined the residents to cooperate with the contractors where and when necessary in order to achieve the goals for which the projects were put in place.
