Ahead of the 2023 general election billed for February, one of the Somolu All Progressive Congress (APC) Apex leaders and the Chairman of Ward E leaders, Mr. Kola Adebayo has described the APC Lagos State House of Assembly candidate representing Somolu constituency I, Hon. Engr. Biodun Orekoya as a trusted and tested political stalwart that has proved his worth in the last few years as a servant leader who has the interest of the people at heart.

Speaking to Somolu News recently during an interactive session, Leader Kola Adebayo described further that Orekoya’s stewardship as the former Vice-Chairman and Executive Secretary of the council alone speaks volumes and has done.

“When he was the Executive Secretary (ES) of the council, he did his possible best to ensure his people enjoyed the dividends of democracy through the provision of a good network of roads, Primary health care facility named after the then governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode within a record time and he also facilitated some many other projects that the community is enjoying till now.”

“What about the so-called ‘Ounje Arugbo’ the Welfare for the elderly. He started it back then when he was the Executive Secretary with people from other local governments, Mushin LCDA, and other local third tiers of government around Somolu coming to benefit from it which the current chairman, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu picked up. Kudos to Dullar for continuing the welfare programme.”

“When he was in office as (ES), the fence of Agunbiade primary collapsed, he fixed it immediately. He also increased the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the local government to an enviable level and today, its history. That’s also an achievement too. So, if he’s now vying to go further to the Lagos House of Assembly, it’s a round peg in a round hole.”

“And don’t forget he served as Commissioner I, Lagos State Local Government Commission, he will definitely use his wealth of experiences gathered over time to better the lot of the Somolu community and Lagos State as a whole. The people of the Somolu community will no doubt enjoy his contribution.” He averred.

Leader Adebayo in his conclusion, however, enjoined the electorate in constituency I to come out en mass, and vote for Engr. Biodun Orekoya and all other APC candidates, and ensure they win convincingly all the elections
