Friday 8th April 2022 will remain a day to remember as Somolu big girl, Adedayo Ashabi Adedoyin popularly known as Lekedo buried her mother, Dr. Mrs. A. Shomade amid pomp pageantry with political elites, government functionaries not leaving out religious leaders from far and near in attendance.
The 62 Abiodun residence of the decease in Somolu local government area of the state was filled to its capacity as the rave of the moment gospel artiste churned out good music to the admiration of the guests, coupled with enough delicious food and drinks to go round.
Ashabi Lekedo who clad in white lace attire and a well-styled haircut was seen exchanging pleasantries and welcoming her guests to the party with a charming and joyful smile.
The burial ceremony became the talk of the town owing to the popularity of the departed soul known as ‘Iya Remi’, a brave and very powerful traditionalist who had one way or the other contributed her quota to the development of the Somolu community through her profession.
The former All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward E councillorship candidate and a member of Egbe Bobagunwa Obirin Akile Ijebu, Egbe Molokun Somolu/Bariga chapter was accompanied by her lovely friends who moved around to ensure all her guests were well attended to without any recourse.
Meanwhile, in her remarks, she described her mother as a loving, caring, disciplined, and accomodating fellow who will stop at nothing to ensure proper things are done as expected.
“My mother no doubt was a disciplinarian during her lifetime She taught us to be prayerful, move closer to God, work hard, and live a truthful life. She’ll always be remembered for bringing me to this world and remain ever-green in my memory. I’m going to miss her so much, especially her morning prayer and advice”.
However, Lekedo prayed to God to forgive her mother’s misdeed and grant her eternal rest.
Dr. Mrs, A. Shomade died in the early hour of Sunday 3rd April 2022 at the ripe age of 77 years and was buried on Friday 8th April 2022.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, and great children.
