The tension soaked football match between Ijebu-Tedo and Okesuna-Alase with a controversial goal ruled in favour of Okesuna Alase by the referee will be continued today at the same venue.
The enraged fans present at the sporting event were not comfortable with the decision of the official of the game and were agitating for replacement of the centre referee against the concluding part while declaring the last one as mis-fit for the continuation of the tournament.
Should the disallowed goal had went in, the match would have ended with few seconds left on the stopwatch, leaving Ijebutedo out of the competition. The whole game was though, marred with quite numbers of hard tackles upon another right from the inception.
However, the fans are waiting eagerly for the winners between the two giants who will join Fadeyi youth in the final football battle as the organiser and the supporters anticipate the display of maturities from both teams.
Meanwhile, in the earlier game, Fadeyi eliminated Bashua on penalties (2-1). The interesting game ended 3-3, with the formidable Bashua being the best team with higher possessions, outstanding attacks and defending expertise in the two halves.
Though, they couldn’t stop the late equalizer from their counterpart as they found themselves dumped out. It’s a painful loss to the team who triumphed over Bajulaye-Folagoro on Saturday with a 4-3 contentious display from both sides.
A special applaud to the winner. Patting on the back goes to the defeated. No giving up in football for those who knows the tactics. 😃
