The Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon Abdul-Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ (Mr. Imototo Somolu) in his bid to promote grassroots and Community involvement in creating environmental awareness, sensitization, and advocacy in compliance with Environmental laws and Waste Management, ‘Dullar’ through his Imototo Ambassador Comrade Oluwarotimi Oluyede; Special Adviser on Environment (CC) was a guest at Bashua West CDA Ward B to discuss, orientate and seek for more cooperation and reiterates government positions in sustaining a cleaner, safer, secured and environmentally hygienic atmosphere for prosperous Somolu.
He was received in the waiting hands of Mr. Segun Shodade, the of Chairman Bashua West CDA, Hon Oluseri Former Chairman, Comrade Kehinde Osokoya; the Secretary, Mr. Paul Dada; formal Secretary and other notable Community Leaders.
In his remarks, Comrade Oluwarotimi Oluyede appreciated them for their support and noted that Ward B has always been one of the major Ward the Environmental team does visit on a regular basis while he demanded for their mutual relationship with Richbol Environmental Services PSP assigned to the Ward.
He continued, “waste is never free, residents are meant to pay as at when due for waste generated with understanding. He asserted that PSP has been wonderful partners Somolu ‘Dullar’ led government never hold with levity hands.
He, however, appeal to CDA to put more effort to talk to residents to desist from indiscriminate disposal of waste on drainage systems, encroachment, illegal trading on the road that hinder free flow or easy access by PSP trucks as complained, charged CDA to be seen to complement government effort where lacking particularly the Mini Canal line by Adebiyi link to Bajulaiye road where some residents turned to dumpsite which has been taken over by Pet bottles that clogged up the culvert hindering the free flow of water thereby causing an eyesore situation. He thereafter assured the residents of the government effort to see that the nuisance is timely abated.
Mr. Segun Shodade Chairman, Hon Oluseri, Comrade Kehinde Osokoya, and Mr. Paul Dada promise their readiness to always work with the government and put more effort to reach out, sensitize the residents in compliance with government policies and environmental laws.
