Keeping peaceful coexistence amongst the Youth within communities is an inevitable task and football remains one of the tools to achieve this which saw Shobande/Igbari community hosted a maiden edition of football competition for 16 streets in Akoka, Somolu, Lagos.
The 2-day event that began on Saturday, January 16th, and ended Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at CMS Girls Senior Secondary School, Bariga witnessed an atmosphere charged with the energetic youths in high spirit where they locked horns with one another on ‘Street battles’ with youths and supporters from Akoka, Somolu, Bariga, and Gbagada cheering their ‘own’ to victory.

Present at the sporting event were the Host CDA, (Shobande Igbari Community Development Association) led by the Chairman, Deacon. Olumide Oluwasogo, the Vice-Chairman; Abiodun Ogunkeye, Treasurer; Chief Godwin Agnonaye Secretary; Barrister. Dipo Ifamodimu and the Youth/Sports Secretary; Adekoya Adewale.
The Akosz family led by the Chairman Akosz Comrade Oluwarotimi Oluyede who doubled as Special Adviser on Environment with Akosz hon Daisi Kayode Deputy were also present.
Meanwhile, Sholanke Youth defeated Gbagada Gbagada Team with 4-2 goals in the final to win the coveted trophy for the football event.
