Senator Tokunbo Abiru celebrates Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA chairman at 60

Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the Red chamber, Distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru has penned an emotional congratulatory message to the Executive chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Adeniyi Onanuga Samson on his 60th birthday anniversary.

Abiru through a press release described the celebrant as an experienced politician and ebullient scholar who always put his people first.

He stressed further, “Turning 60 is, no doubt, a great milestone, especially in our country, where life expectancy is still relatively low. I believe strongly that there are many things to be grateful to God Almighty for in the last six decades of your life”.

“On your behalf, Hon. Chairman, I am particularly thankful to God, who has kept him alive, hale, and healthy for 60 remarkable years. For me, this is one of the greatest benefits anyone can receive from his Maker because all other things in life – be it career success or political aspiration – largely depend on the gift of sound health”.

“For the substantial part of life, you have served humanity, most especially people of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Epe Local Government Area (LGA), Lagos East, and Lagos State at large. This has earned you Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Public policy & Administration, which Western Ville University, San Diego, California United States conferred you”.

“More importantly, you have dedicated the last three decades of your life to a progressive course. Under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) between 1990 and 1993, you served as the Secretary of Ward E, which to a large extent attest to your affinity to the people at the grassroots”.

Hon. Adeniyi Onanuga Samson served in different capacities including Board Committee Member in Epe LGA; Personal Assistant to a former Executive Chairman of Epe LGA, Hon. Shefiu Areh and the Supervisor for Education, Epe LGA. In 2008, you emerged as the Vice-Chairman, Ikosi- Ejinrin LCDA, and elected the Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA in 2017.

As a mark of service to the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, RootWatch, an Abuja-based International magazine, awarded him the Best LGA Chairman on Rural Electrification in Nigeria in 2020. This award, further, established his commitment and dedication to ensuring every home has electricity in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

“I am proud of this attainment of yours. You, also, demonstrated the spirit of “Progressives” in the just concluded senatorial bye-election in Lagos East. With your support and that of other leaders, our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had the highest votes in Epe LGA, including Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

“On this special day, Hon. Chairman, I rejoice with you for attaining the age of 60 with sound health and even undying passion to serve the people and government of Lagos State. While thanking God for His grace and mercy upon your life, I pray He will satisfy you with long life and unfailing health”.

“I wish you many happy returns on your 60th birthday and for the coming years ahead”.
