Tinubu loses bestman and close ally

The former Lagos state governor and National leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu a few weeks ago lost of his bosom friends and confidants, his (Bestman) during his wedding years back, Mr Dele Oduyelu is popularly known as ‘Lewi’.

The Ijebu Imodi born technocrat was said to have died on Friday 19th 2020 after a brief illness at the age of 74. This is coming few days after Tinubu lost another confidant and party loyalist, Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo who represented Lagos-East senatorial District at the upper chamber, Abuja.

According to Mr Wole Odubiyi, one of the close friends of the deceased described Mr Dele Oduyelu as a very influential personality who commands respect among politicians and business circle.

“Lewi was a jovial and cool-headed gentleman who is loved by young and old, low and mighty. There’s no dull moment wherever he is as he would make sure everyone is happy. There’s no doubt about the fact that he will be missed by family and friends. Adieu, Lewi!

Until his death, late Dele Oduyelu was the General Manager of HighWay Managers, the outfit that takes care of refuse alongside LAWMA in Lagos state. He was reported to have played a pivotal role in reshaping the organisational structure of the Highway Managers bringing it back to life.

A devoted and committed Christian he was while alive.

He is survived by wife, children and grandchildren.
