According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway when the vehicle conveying the boxing icon collided with another car under circumstances that are yet to be fully ascertained. The impact of the crash reportedly caused heavy traffic congestion in the area as emergency responders and security operatives moved in to manage the situation.
Tragically, two persons were reportedly feared dead at the scene of the accident, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries. The identities of the deceased have not yet been officially released as at the time of filing this report.
Sources close to the incident confirmed that Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries and was immediately attended to by medical personnel. He was said to be in stable condition, with no life-threatening injuries recorded.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agencies were present at the scene to evacuate the victims and clear the wreckage, while investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of the crash.
