The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has eulogies the Community Development Associations in Somolu for cooperating and making the operations of the law enforcement agencies to be hitch-free.
The local government boss said this when he was commending the encouraging compliance of the residents of Somolu to the 10 pm to 4 am curfew as ordered by both the state and federal governments due to the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
Since the birth of Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government in July 2017, the area has witnessed more peaceful coexistence amongst youths as the Mayor has since urged the law enforcement agencies on a ‘Know Your Area’ measures which included the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigerian Immigration Service, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps and Department of State Services (DSS).
Commending the residents of Somolu for their cooperation with the security agencies, the Mayor said the well organized Chief Dapo Oduguwa-led Community Development Committee (CDC) of Somolu has done well in coordinating the over 30 Community Development Associations in Somolu as they are more security conscious and law-abiding. “We commend the coordination of CDC and CDAs in Somolu for making our job to easily get to the people as a government by cooperating with the law enforcement agencies”, the Mayor said.
However, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu said his administration will continue in supporting the Community Development Committee and the law enforcement agencies to work better, respond better and enforce the law better while taking human rights into fair consideration.
Moreover, the Mayor of Somolu has urged residents to be law-abiding in respect to the 10 pm-4 am curfew duration during the present phase of easing the Covid-19 lockdown in Nigeria. He said residents should keep the relevant agencies informed about normalcy in their neighbourhood, “If you see something, say something”, Dullar said.
