INTRIGUES, PASSIONS, AS DULLAR KID’S CUP REACHES FINAL
The eight primary schools in Somolu that fall under the second phase of the much talked about Dullar Kid’s Cup at Agunbiade Schools Complex are more determined as the primary schools’ players are full of determination and encouragement.
The Dullar Kid’s Cup, as sponsored by the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, and packaged by BILWILL, had listed the 17 regular primary schools in Somolu for the 5-aside soccer competition.
Storming the Agunbiade Kids Football Pitch on Wednesday for the first round, Odunlade Primary School suffered a 3-1 defeat from Agunbiade Primary School while Baptist Primary School disgraced Wright Memorial Primary School with 2-0 defeat. S.S. Peter and Paul Primary School triumph against Ola Olu Primary School with 2-0 winning. It was a tough feet battle between Wesley Primary School and their neighbour, Ijebutedo Primary School as their 20 minutes match ended with a goalless draw but the penalty shootout ended with 5-4 in favour of Wesley.
The second round of matches was a tough one for Agunbiade Primary School as their entertaining team lost to S.S. Peter and Paul with 1-0. Baptist Primary School baptized Wesley Primary School with 2-0.
The Semi-final at Agunbiade Kid’s Soccer Pitch seems to be a game for the big boys as S.S. Peter and Paul received their Wednesday baptism from Baptist Primary School who won with 2-0.
The Wednesday matches were enjoyed by the Supervisory Councilor for Agric and Community Services, Hon. Adewale Oseni; Engr. Idowu Marayesa (PA to the Chairman), Hon. Lateef Ashimi (SA Education to the Chairman) and many other aides other Somolu’s Mayor.

On Friday, the third-place match is expected to witness a large crowd as it will be a battle between St. Paul Primary School and S.S. Peter & Paul Primary School.
On the same Friday, Baptist Primary School and St. Augustine Primary School will be on the pitch in the feet tussle to win the Dullar Kid’s Club. Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, prominent community people and politicians are expected to grace the kid’s cup event.
Recall that the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, had promised to support, encourage and sponsor children in Somolu Schools according to their ability, passion and creativity. The Mayor of Somolu had also given out scholarship to Somolu residents who are in higher institutions o learning. May also benefited from the free JAMB and WAEC (GCE) forms and many of them came out with flying colours.
