The Mayor of Somolu is at it again as he gives out food and money to about 1,500 elderly people in his area during the October 2019 Elderly Welfare Programme.
Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu in a radiant blue outfit all in the bid to show love to the elderly, aged 60 years and above, the Mayor emphasised it that caring for the elderly people should be one of the most important dividends enjoyed by the citizens from the government. “You elected us here and we will always do you proud with welfare, empowerment, healthcare, education and good roads to make our community proud of us”, the Council Boss said.
The well-attended event had Hon. Rotimi Olowo, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe, Engr. Abiodun Orekoya, Hon. Williams Lawanson, Hon. Femi Taiwo and the gorgeously dressed and ever beautiful Chairperson, Mrs Mariam Salawu-Yusuf, who was sitting with the Women leader of APC in Somolu, Hon. Abiola Fashoro.
To ease the inconvenience the elderly people went through by defying the heavy downpour to make it to the event, the duo of Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu and Hon. Rotimi Olowo gave One thousand naira to each of the elderly people present at the hall, making two thousand Naira for each of the over 1,500 elderly people with their welfare package containing rice, garri and sweet beans.
