Ashimi commissions Equal Right Restaurant and Bar in grand ceremony

Somolu came alive on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, as the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Lateef Ashimi, officially commissioned the newly established Equal Right Restaurant & Bar in a colourful and well-attended ceremony.

Strategically located on Morocco Axis, Bajulaiye Road, Somolu, beside Polaris Bank, the modern hospitality outfit was unveiled amidst cheers from a large and enthusiastic crowd comprising residents, political leaders, community stakeholders, and well-wishers.

The commissioning ceremony, which drew a massive turnout, reflected the growing interest in commercial investments within the Somolu axis. Guests at the event expressed admiration for the initiative, noting that the establishment represents a significant milestone in the area’s evolving business landscape.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Ashimi commended the promoters of the restaurant for their foresight and contribution to local economic development. He emphasised the importance of private sector participation in driving grassroots growth, adding that such investments not only enhance service delivery but also create employment opportunities for residents.

He added, “This newly commissioned food brand is one of the best around, and I believe it will not only boost the local economy but will also save those who travel far to fetch a delicious meal. Some go as far as Surulere, Palmgrove and even Ikeja, but with EqualRight Restaurant around, the problem is solved”. He echoed.
