According to an official statement dated April 1, 2026, the initiative is being spearheaded by the Mayoress and the Oluomo of Kosofeland. The proposed Ikosi-Isheri Fire Station is described as a first-of-its-kind facility within the LCDA, designed to enhance rapid response to fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
The project aims to safeguard lives and property across the community while improving residents’ overall safety and resilience. The development reflects the administration’s commitment to prioritising public safety and delivering impactful infrastructure.
Princess Bada emphasised that the fire station will play a critical role in addressing emergencies promptly, thereby reducing potential damage and loss. The initiative aligns with her administration’s vision captured in the slogan, “My Heart Is Where My Community Is.”
The project will significantly boost emergency preparedness and response capabilities within Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, thereby saving lives and properties that would have been lost.
