In his goodwill message made available to newsmen in Okene, Hon. Salau Ogembe described Ramadan as a sacred period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, sacrifice and compassion for humanity.
He urged Muslims in Okene/Ogori-Magongo to seize the opportunity of the holy month to pray fervently for peace, unity and sustainable development within the constituency and the nation at large.
The aspirant noted that Ramadan offers a unique moment for sober reflection and rededication to the values of tolerance, love and generosity as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He encouraged the faithful to extend acts of kindness to the less privileged, stressing that collective responsibility and empathy remain key to building a stronger and more inclusive society.
Hon. Ogembe further called on residents of the Fedeal constituency to use the fasting period to strengthen bonds of harmony irrespective of political, ethnic or religious differences. According to him, “Ramadan teaches us patience, perseverance and obedience to the will of Almighty Allah. These virtues are essential not only in our personal lives but also in our collective pursuit of progress and good governance.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the socio-economic advancement of Okene/Ogori-Magongo, pledging to continue engaging with stakeholders, youths and community leaders to articulate people-oriented programmes that would address pressing needs such as youth empowerment, infrastructural development and improved social welfare.
While wishing all Muslim faithful a peaceful and rewarding Ramadan, the APC chieftain prayed that Almighty Allah accepts their fasting, supplications and charitable deeds, and grants the constituency enduring peace and prosperity.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting from dawn to dusk, intensified prayers and charitable giving.
