The foundation-laying ceremony, which took place earlier today, drew community leaders, political stakeholders and residents who gathered to witness the historic milestone. The project is aimed at providing a befitting place of worship for Muslim faithful in the area while also strengthening unity and spiritual growth within the community.
Speaking at the event, Princess Bada reiterated her dedication to supporting community-driven initiatives that directly impact the lives of residents at the grassroots. She noted that development goes beyond infrastructure and must reflect the needs, values and aspirations of the people.
According to her, the mosque project aligns with her administration’s broader vision of fostering social cohesion, religious harmony and sustainable community development across Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Kosofe Local Government Renewed Hope Ambassador, Hon. Yunusa Salami, Hon. Muibat Balogun, and other stakeholders who commended the Mayoress for her inclusive leadership style and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
Community representatives expressed appreciation for the council’s support, describing the foundation-laying as a new chapter for residents of Ifelodun, Ajegunle. They pledged continued cooperation with the local government to ensure the successful completion of the mosque project.
The Al-Istijaabah Central Mosque, when completed, is expected to serve as a spiritual hub and a symbol of collective progress, further reinforcing the administration’s resolve to deliver meaningful development at the grassroots level.
