The borehole rehabilitation project is currently underway at House 4, Anuoluwapo Street, following the directive of the Ashimi-led administration to restore non-functional water facilities across the local government area. The intervention is aimed at ensuring a sustainable water supply for households and reducing the challenges faced by residents in accessing safe water for daily use.
Speaking on the project, sources within the council noted that the rehabilitation aligns with the administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and basic infrastructure renewal at the grassroots level. Once completed, the borehole is expected to serve a large number of residents along the Okesuna Alase axis, improving hygiene standards and the overall quality of life in the community.
Residents of the area have expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, describing the project as a relief, especially amid rising costs of alternative water sources. They commended the council chairman for responding to community needs and prioritising essential services that directly impact the welfare of the people.
The Ashimi administration has reiterated its resolve to continue similar projects across other wards in Somolu Local Government, stressing that access to clean water remains a critical component of its development agenda.
