…Chief of Air Staff hails Governor’s purposeful transformation, vision in Lagos
He said Lagos is important and strategic to Nigeria’s economic progress; therefore, the Lagos State Government will continue to lead and provide the necessary support for the Nigerian Air Force.
Governor Sanwo-Olu spoke on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and his entourage at Lagos House, Marina, on Tuesday.
The Governor commended the Nigerian Air Force for always sending to Lagos capable officers who continue to exhibit professionalism at all levels.
He said: “Lagos is alive to its responsibility. The Nigerian Air Force and the Lagos State Government have been in partnership for a long time. There are strategic installations and facilities in Lagos that we cannot help but continue to fully safeguard.
“We are happy with the level of relationship that we currently enjoy. We know that Lagos is important and strategic to the economic progress of our country. We will continue to lead and provide that support.”
Speaking earlier, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for the purposeful transformation and strategic and visionary leadership he has been giving Lagos State.
Aneke said the Nigerian Air Force is open and ready to partner and collaborate with the Lagos State Government to strengthen security in the State and the country at large.
He said, “The Nigerian Air Force and Lagos have a long-standing relationship. Lagos is one of our earliest and major Air Force bases, so we can’t just stroll in and stroll out without acknowledging the wonderful things you have been doing for us.
“On behalf of the Nigerian Air Force, officers and staff, I would like to say a very big thank you for the purposeful transformation and strategic leadership, the visionary leadership you have been giving Lagos State.
“Seeing is believing, and you can’t hide good things. It is clear that with the infrastructure, the train services and all the major things you are doing for the state. Lagos State is the heartbeat of Nigeria.
“If it is not Lagos, it is nowhere. Lagos has a style, and you can’t beat Lagos. Lagos State and the Nigerian Air Force have had a wonderful, long-lasting relationship, and we believe that it is important for us to partner with you.”
