…embarks on joint inspection at Bashua Police Post
In a move aimed at bolstering security and fostering a safer environment for residents, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, received the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, at the council secretariat on Monday 15th September, 2025.
According to the Chairman, “We are keen to work hand-in-hand with law enforcement to address the security challenges in our community.”
Following the meeting, the Chairman and the Commissioner of Police embarked on a joint inspection of the Bashua Police Post alongside the Vice Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Ojomu; Hon. Tunde James Oyeyiola and other Honourable Councillors; the Council Treasurer, Mr. Abayomi Odusanya; the Chief of Staff, Prince Sodiq Adeeso; and the local government’s Heads of Departments, Mrs. Odubote and Mr. Akinyemi Olusegun; Peace & Security Officer, Mrs Adedayo Oluremi.
CP Olohundare commended the proactive stance of the Somolu Local Government leadership, assuring them of the Command’s full support. “We are committed to creating a secure and peaceful Lagos. The partnership with local government authorities, as we see today in Somolu, is crucial to achieving this goal.” he said.
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to developing and implementing actionable plans to ensure sustained peace and security across Somolu. All parties emphasised that a safe community is a prosperous one and that this partnership is a cornerstone of that vision.
