It was jubilation galore on Monday 14th of April, 2025 in Agiliti-Mile 12 area of the state as the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, officially commissioned the rehabilitated Oluwaseun and Olanrewaju Streets, the vital link roads that had long been in a state of disrepair.
Addressing the media after cutting the ribbon, the Yeyesewa of Ilara Kingdom, Princess Samiat Bada noted that the projects were executed in line with her administration’s promise to touch every part of the LCDA with impactful infrastructural development.
The Multiple-Award winning council Mayoress emphasized that her administration would not relent in delivering people-oriented projects, especially those that enhance the quality of life in grassroots communities.
In his remarks, the former Majority leader in the Lagos state House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency II, Hon. Dr. Ajibayo Adeyeye praised the leadership style of Princess Bada and lauded the council for embracing infrastructure renewal as a key to socioeconomic development.
“What we are witnessing today is governance in action. I commend the chairperson for not just talking but walking the talk,” he stated.
Residents of the area could not hide their excitement, with many praising the smooth finish of the road and the improved drainage that came with the project. Community leader Alhaji Fatai Arogundade, speaking on behalf of landlords and tenants, expressed gratitude to the council and appealed for more interventions in other inner streets.
