Road Project:Apata CDA, residents heave a sigh of relief as Moshalashi street rehabilitation reach final completion

The Apata CDA and residents of Moshalashi Street in the Somolu area of the state heaved a sigh of relief as the long-abandoned street has finally been completed and is ready for commission at the shortest possible date.

According to the former Chairman of Apata CDA; Mr. Konibiire Ayodele Murtala who said he was indeed delighted to see the government making provision for infrastructure development through the elected representatives both at the state and local government level.

He went further, “Honestly, I must give kudos to the facilitator of the road project that will not only allow free entry and exit of both human and vehicular movement but boost the economic space of the area.”

“The most interesting part is the road being resurfaced with interlocking that will last the test of time. Not only that, the street is equipped with street lights and fire hydrants in case of a fire emergency”.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Chairman of the association, Mr. Adegbenga Osinbajo in his submission described the road project as a welcome development that will further bring succour to the residents and other road users while thanking the government for giving them dividends of democracy noting that such a noble gesture would bring about trust in government policies.

In the same vein, one of the residents, Mr. Kehinde Adebiyi who also owns a Digital Printshop on the street said he couldn’t wait to see the street commissioned after so many years of abandonment.

He went further, “I’m so delighted to see my street rehabilitated after so many years of neglect. It’s a good thing the government is paying attention to our needs, especially in the area of infrastructure development. It’s a good thing they’re keeping campaign promises”. He echoed.

In conclusion, the residents and the stakeholders poured encomium on Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, Hon. Rotimi Olowo Emmanuel, and Hon. Biodun Orekoya for giving Somolu local government a facelift as they made a passionate appeal to the government to make provision for security cameras which they said will keep criminal activities at bay in the area.

Moshalashi Street is not just one of the busiest streets in Somolu but a place of business where daily life blends with occasional calls to prayer from the nearby Mosque, creating a unique backdrop coupled with vendors and Printshops linen both sides.
