Somolu #TechSpark2024 Kids Bootcamp begins in August

As part of efforts to expose kids and teens to technological literacy in today’s digital age, the 2024 TechSpark, sponsored by Hon. Kola Muhammed, SA on ICT to the Executive Chairman, Somolu Lagos is billed to commence from August 5th-23rd, 2024 at 11, Isaac John Street, Fadeyi-Somolu, Lagos, starting from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (Mon-Wed).

According to the Coordinator and sponsor of the programme, Hon. Kola said the tech event would help the participants within the age range of 8-14 years old to understand the basics of technology, coding, and digital citizenship and as well give the children a significant advantage in their academic and future professional lives.

He went further, “The Tech boot camps for kids and teens are designed to introduce young minds to the fascinating world of technology in an engaging, hands-on manner. An intensive training program that immerses participants in various technological disciplines over a short period. Introducing children to technology at a young age can spark an interest that lasts a lifetime”.

Some of the Bootcamp Outlines include Introduction to Computers, Digital Citizenship, Coding Fundamentals with Scratch, Introduction to Drone Technology, Tech-themed Quizzes and Puzzles, Guest Lectures from Tech Professionals, Field Trips to SAIL Innovative Lab and NitHub Unilag, and Mentorship Programs

Hon. Kola, however, in his conclusion said it is crucial to equip the next generation with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed adding that Tech boot camps for kids and teens provide an excellent platform for young learners to explore the world of technology, develop essential skills, and build the confidence to become future innovators and leaders.

“By investing in these programs, we are not only preparing our children for future careers but also inspiring them to think creatively and solve problems in new and innovative ways”.
