Somolu Digital Activation Initiative: Tech-shepherd draws curtain on 3-Day digital programme

One of the vibrant tech firms fostering collaboration, innovation, and networking opportunities for tech enthusiasts in the country, Tech-shepherd Limited has drawn the curtain on the A-3 Day Somolu Digital Activation pioneering programme held from 27 to 29 May 2024 at the Tech-Shepherd’s hub, Isaac John Street, Fadeyi, Lagos.

According to the organizer of the 3 Days programme, Hon. Kola Muhammed who’s also the Special Adviser to the Somolu Council Chairman on ICT said the sole aim of the Somolu Digital initiative was to bridge the digital divide and equip youths with cutting-edge skills and guidance for individuals seeking to enhance their digital skill and knowledge.

He continued, “Somolu Digital Activation initiative is an idea looked upon to continue the ICT Skill Upliftment started by the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ not only the youths this time but others who want to be digitally activated to make the process of ones business go viral and earn profitably”.

The well-attended event which paraded participants especially the youths from diverse locations such as Badagry, ìyànà-Iba, Mushin, and Somolu, demonstrated the program’s reach and appeal.

One of the participants who spoke with Somolu News, George Rita Oluwatosin described the initiative as a thrilling experience that’ll further allow her to explore more in the digital space and contribute her quota to the development of the society.

“I’m thrilled with the skills and digital tools I’ve gained. My HP Laptop is now fixed, I’ve learned how to create a website, create a logo, and even create a short video to promote my business. It will be instrumental in my future endeavours. Thanks to the organizer of Somolu Digital Activation Initiative!”

Also speaking at the event, one of the participants, Mr. Abdullahi Babatunde said the initiative has exposed him and others to digital skills that’ll enable him to promote his business and also transfer such knowledge to others who might need it.

He went further, “The digital tools and skills acquired are unparalleled. It has exposed me and other participants to digital skills needed to promote my business. I’m grateful for this opportunity and look forward to applying my newfound knowledge.”

Abdullahi, however, poured encomium on the organizer of the initiative; Hon. Olukola Muhammed for his genuine gesture noting that the digital skill initiatives will not only broaden the skills of the youths who are creative but rather make the society economically vibrant.

During the programme, Laptops were fixed free of charge, ensuring participants had the tools to thrive in the digital landscape.
