The Deputy Governor of National Rescue Movement (MRM) candidate in Lagos state, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Azeezat Dabiri Adewunmi has reiterated her party’s commitment towards making youths employment, small enterprises fully supported for new wealth creation, social services, and autonomy of local government for rapid socio-economic development the priorities of their government if elected come March 18th, 2023.
She made this statement while fielding questions from a Somolu News correspondent on Wednesday where the educationist cum politician hinted that the suffering of the Lagosians prompted her into joining politics to enable her to salvage the situation which she sees as a clarion call to serve her people and humanity as a whole.
“Honestly, if we’re given the chance, replication of what the First Executive Governor of Lagos state, late Chief Alhaji Lateef Jakande did 40 years ago will not be a bad idea where he offered free education, free health care delivery made provision for low-cost housing for low-income earner and other infrastructural development to his people. All these things, we want them happening again in Lagos.”
“And parts of the 4 points agenda as clearly stated earlier is to create employment opportunities for young and vibrant youths who’re willing to work which prompted my Principal Mr. Akinwunmi Braithwaite to find a lasting solution to checkmate youth restiveness in the society through youth employment. An idle hand they say is the devil’s workshop says and adage.
“Don’t forget that many of these youths are graduates but have no work doing which has caused a lot of setbacks in society but if they’re gainfully engaged, it’ll go a long way in reducing the crime rate and as well boost the economy geometrically.”
The black and bold political bride also said the infusion of some the professions like photography, fashion design, hairdressing, catering, and the likes into the school curriculum would have been learned at the higher institution of learning and the other way round where they’ll graduate and still go out and learn will make life a lot more better for them.
Dr. Dabiri-Adewunmi never hesitated to add her women folks to the agenda as she said women’s empowerment remains a child of necessity that must be imbibed jealously as they play significant roles in governance.
She continued, “Women empowerment must not be overlooked because I see them playing significant roles in nation building through small enterprises fully supported for wealth creation which’ll project the nation to the next level.”
“In our plan, we know it’s the responsibility of the government to make provision for all these to the citizens of the state and we are ready to execute all our campaign promises to the fullest when elected.” She enthused.
She, however, enjoined the electorate to come out en mass to cast their vote for the National Rescue Movement Governorship candidate, Hon. Akinwunmi Braithwaite/Dr. Azeezat Dabiri Adewunmi and all NRM House of Assembly candidates throughout the state.
