Update: Alleged attacker of Event and planning Manager nabbed, handed over to the police

The search for the attacker of the Event and Planning Manager was reported to have yielded a positive result on Friday 4th November 2022 as the culprit, Rasheed Anifowoshe (19) was nabbed at Olorunkemi Street in Bariga LCDA of the state at about 5:36 pm by the team of boys loyal to the Manager in the neighbouhood after several attempts.

Anifowoshe who was believed to be an imbecile took to his hill the moment he sighted the boys coming towards him. Although, he tried to outwit them but was eventually caught and brought back to Oredola Junction where the Manager’s office is situated. The bad boy was almost mobbed if not for the intervention of the Baale and some other notable personalities in the community who begged on his behalf and was immediately taken to the Pedro Police Station for interrogation and prosecution.

Speaking on the issue, the Baale of Owode/Ajose Community, High Chief Olusegun Aromire Ajose condemned the attack in a strong term noting that such humans should not be allowed to live in the society to avert re-occurrence.

“If the victim had failed to identify him during the attack, one would probably think he was framed considering his condition but it’s a good thing that he was identified with several claims of a similar occurrence in the past, so, the victim has been vindicated. We do not want such person(s) in the community.” The Baale claimed.

Meanwhile, the husband of the victim, Mr. Richard Ayoade recounting his ordeal said he only wants the culprit arrested and kept away from the community in order for such not to repeat itself in the future while warning the people in the community to always be vigilant day and night.

“It’s important to note that such an ugly situation shouldn’t repeat itself considering what the victim and the community had gone through in the last few weeks. It was a sad one indeed. I thank God that my wife is responding to treatment and I appreciate all who stood by us through the travail for their prayers and support.” He stated.
