The Somolu All Progressive Congress was a few days ago thrown into a mourning mood as the family of Mr. Abisuga Peter Olusegun (a.k.a Oselu Baba Ikenne) announced his passing away on Tuesday 16th August 2022 at the age of 67.
According to a reliable source who spoke to our correspondent said Mr. Abisuga Peter Olusegun breath his last around 3.30 am.
However, one of the All Progressive Congress (APC) political stalwarts, Ade Adebambo described the deceased as an exemplary political leader, a kind, caring father, and an astute politician who put the party interest first and always carries his people along at any given time.
The endless bursts of ovation and tributes that have continued to trail his transition is a testament to the fact that Mr. Abisuga Peter Olusegun was indeed exemplary and he distinctly raised the bar of good leadership among his contemporaries.
“Oselu Baba Ikenne was a man with great charisma but he never abused the power he wielded. His sense of humour endeared many of his family as well as party members to him. We’ll surely miss him so dearly”. he said.
The late Abisuga started his political career during the second republic and was a member of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) headed by Chief Obafemi Awolowo and made it through to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC) and now All Progressive Congress (APC).
Until his death, he was one of the loyal political allies and advisers to Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Somolu Constituency I, Hon. Rotimi Olowo Emmanuel whose contributions to the success achieved by the honourable cannot be underestimated.
Late Mr. Abisuga Olusegun (Oselu Baba Ikenne) is survived by children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters.
Meanwhile, the burial arrangement will be announced by the family.
