LAHA 2023: ‘I will make free and compulsory education my priority-Orekoya’

Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Biodun Orekoya addressing the Somolu Legislative Arm led by Hon. Yomi Oshunkoya during his visit to the councillors on Wednesday 23rd March, 2023 at Shipeolu, Somolu, Lagos.

The immediate past Vice-chairman and former Executive Secretary of Somolu local government, Hon. Biodun Orekoya has reiterated his commitment towards making primary and secondary school education free and compulsory his priority if given the chance as the sole candidate for Lagos House of Assembly representing Somolu constituency I.

The Yabatech trained engineer cum politician made this known to Somolu correspondent shortly after he met with the Somolu APC leaders on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 where he consulted the party leaders for the nod.

He continued, “I’m here to consult and seek the consent of the party leaders for me to contest for the position of Lagos State House of Assembly come 2023 and I believe if I’m being given the privilege, I’ll bring on board a lot of opportunities that’ll benefit the youth, especially in the area of education”. he claimed.

The consultation train, thereafter, met with the Somolu Legislative Arm led by Hon. Yomi Oshunkoya who pledged to give the Lagos House of Assembly aspirant the needed support to achieve his dream goal while he was applauded for counting them worthy for consultation which the House held in high esteem.

The councillors in their remarks lauded Hon. Orekoya’s past achievements during his tenure as the Executive Secretary of the council especially the Ambode Primary Care Centre and some other high-profile projects which he executed while in office stressing that that’s the major reason why they’re throwing their weight behind him.

Present at the declaration of intention includes the leader of the Somolu Legislative Arm, Hon. Yomi Oshunkoya, his Deputy, Hon. Ibrahim Oduntan, the Majority Leader, Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi, the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Bolaji Teluwo.

Others include the Chief Whip, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, his Deputy, Hon. Tunde James, Hon. Folarin Adegbite and Hon. Kingsley Ihenhen.
