Hon. Dele-Afolabi, Chief of Staff to Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu Dullar Somolu LG

The Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, Hon. Dele Afolabi has revealed that the security personnel stationed at the Somolu local government is to protect the lives and properties of the workers in the council and government properties within.

Briefing Somolu Newspaper recently in his office, Hon. Dele said the move became necessary owing to harassment of innocent people and unnecessary vandalization of properties in the community by aggrieved members where many people sustained serious injuries and properties worth hundreds of thousands vandalized.

“Honestly, the best way to show grievances is not by beating people or destruction of properties but rather go to the right channel where the authority there will give you a listening ear but unfortunately, they’ve destroyed the LGA secretariat where they could be listened to”.

“How then do they want the issue to be resolved when they’ve scared away the party executives that’ll hear them out. It’s uncalled for. The earlier they called themselves to order, the better for us all.” He stated.

Meanwhile, people have resumed their normal business activities while security operatives are still on standby to checkmate any protests that could undermine the peace in the community.
