The chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Somolu leader of the house in the second republic, Hon. Ademola Adefalujo Olisa has reiterated the committee’s commitment to ensuring a hitch-free exercise in the build-up to the election billed for 24th July 2021.
According to the former Somolu Supervisory Councillor and the current member of the 2021 LG 14 man electoral committee on guidelines and screening revealed that the committee has put in place well-orchestrated electoral guidelines and screening exercise that’ll ensure equity and fairness of purpose not leaving out security apparatus to checkmate unnecessary election violence in the state noting that the committee under the chairmanship of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has sensitized all the local government chairmen and other stakeholders on the issue of security.
He stressed further, “I can assure you that state government is not folding its hands knowing the importance of security especially at a critical moment like this”.
“Fortunately, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, is the chairman of the committee, the government will leave no stone unturned to ensure things are in good order. So, the coast is clear”. he stated.
Similarly, Hon. Olisa emphasized more on women’s participation in politics, describing the party’s stance on election form fee as gender-friendly where women enjoy a 50% incentive to give them a level playing field in a democratic setting that also sees them as stakeholders.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, he never hesitated to enjoin the youths in the state to shun violence that could put them in danger but rather embrace peaceful conduct during and after the election.
